Buldogis is combined two words of Korean and English."Bul" (불) in Korean means fire or grilled. "Dogis" means everyone's favorite hot dogs.

Most well known Korean dish, Bulgogi literally means "fire meat" in Korean, which refers to the cooking technique over an open flame—rather than the dish's spiciness.

The term "Gogi" is also applied to variations of meats such as Dak Bulgogi is made with chicken) or Dwaeji Bulgogi (made with pork),
